Description
Slit Midi Slip Dress
The Slit Dress is a printed midi on fine straps, shaped through the body and open at the front hem.
Gathered cups shape the bust, and the straps tie in bows at your shoulders so the height is yours to set. Behind you the back is shirred with elastic, which holds the dress up and lets it move with you, and the bodice is lined so nothing shows through a print this light. A long slit opens at the front of the skirt.
Cotton, viscose, crepe de chine, linen, satin, polyester and silk all sew up well here.

How to print it
Open the file in Adobe Reader
Use the A4 or US Letter file. Adobe Reader is free, and it is the only reader that handles the size layers correctly.
Switch off the sizes you don't need
Open the layers panel on the left and leave only your size visible. You will use far less paper and ink, and the pieces are easier to cut.
Set scaling to 100%
Choose Actual Size, and make sure Fit to Page or Shrink to Fit is switched off. This is what keeps the pattern true to size.
Print page one and measure the test square
If the square measures correctly, your settings are right. If not, check the scaling and print page one again before going further.
Print the remaining pages and assemble
Line up the registration marks, tape the sheets together, and follow the assembly diagram that came with your files.
Prefer a copy shop? Use the A0 file
Hand over the A0 file and ask for 100% scale with no tiling. One sheet, no taping, nothing to assemble.
What you are buying
