Description

Pleated Hakama Trousers

The Hakama Pants are a wide pleated trouser with a proper fly and a long tie at the waist.

Deep pleats fall from the waistband over each hip, and a fly closes the front with a zip and a shield behind it, so a leg this wide still sits flat at the front. Belt loops are overcast, folded and stitched on, pockets are faced and set at the side, and a tie knots at the waist.

Polyester, cotton and wool are all in range.

How to print it

Open the file in Adobe Reader

Use the A4 or US Letter file. Adobe Reader is free, and it is the only reader that handles the size layers correctly.

Switch off the sizes you don't need

Open the layers panel on the left and leave only your size visible. You will use far less paper and ink, and the pieces are easier to cut.

Set scaling to 100%

Choose Actual Size, and make sure Fit to Page or Shrink to Fit is switched off. This is what keeps the pattern true to size.

Print page one and measure the test square

If the square measures correctly, your settings are right. If not, check the scaling and print page one again before going further.

Print the remaining pages and assemble

Line up the registration marks, tape the sheets together, and follow the assembly diagram that came with your files.

Prefer a copy shop? Use the A0 file

Hand over the A0 file and ask for 100% scale with no tiling. One sheet, no taping, nothing to assemble.

We answer seven days a week

Live chat is open 7 days a week, and the button sits in the corner of every page. If you would rather write, contact@indie-patterns.com reaches the same people.

Anything about a download that will not open, a file that prints at the wrong scale, or a step in the guide that does not read clearly - ask. It is the same answer whether you bought one pattern or the whole library.
