Description
Bound Edge Sherpa Gilet
The Niki Vest is a short sherpa gilet with contrast binding round every edge and patch pockets at the hip.
Bias tape runs round the neck, the front edges, the armholes and the hem, which is what finishes a pile fabric without a facing anywhere in it. Buttons run down the front through worked buttonholes, the patch pockets are bound the same way before they go on, and the shoulder and side seams are the only seams it has.
Fleece, faux fur, cotton french terry, minky, sherpa, jacket fabrics, teddy fabric and polar fleece all work here.

How to print it
Open the file in Adobe Reader
Use the A4 or US Letter file. Adobe Reader is free, and it is the only reader that handles the size layers correctly.
Switch off the sizes you don't need
Open the layers panel on the left and leave only your size visible. You will use far less paper and ink, and the pieces are easier to cut.
Set scaling to 100%
Choose Actual Size, and make sure Fit to Page or Shrink to Fit is switched off. This is what keeps the pattern true to size.
Print page one and measure the test square
If the square measures correctly, your settings are right. If not, check the scaling and print page one again before going further.
Print the remaining pages and assemble
Line up the registration marks, tape the sheets together, and follow the assembly diagram that came with your files.
Prefer a copy shop? Use the A0 file
Hand over the A0 file and ask for 100% scale with no tiling. One sheet, no taping, nothing to assemble.
What you are buying
